"We found our own place – R Cabins!"

 We embarked on our journey in 2008, after leaving the technology field for a new venture in the hospitality field, with our end goal being to manage our own campground.

In 2011 we began our adventure in Cokato, Minnesota, serving as managers for 4 years of an active 68 acre camping resort. This time was invaluable as we learned a lot about managing and maintaining resort facilities, events and finances. We gained insight working with vacationing campers to provide the accommodations, activities, and support that made their camping visit most enjoyable.

In 2015 our dream venture led us south to Alabama running a 165 acre mobile home and RV community. At this property, maintenance and management shifted from a vacation approach to a neighborhood community atmosphere. We were able to bring this community closer together by renovating the playground, organizing activities in the community center, and enhancing the park’s overall WIFI capabilities.

While thankful our time spent in both Minnesota and Alabama created experiences which have provided incredible learning experiences and long lasting friendships – we continued the hunt for our own place.

Everything began to fall into place in early 2018, when we happened to learned about R Cabins in Channing, MI. In the spring we met with the previous owners to learn about what they built up and what the property has to offer. After an abundance of praying and research, our dream has been realized.
